Hauler!

FxCam_1356089036969So today I finally had brunch at TWG (I loved what I had, the vegetarian lasagna and hot chocolate tea, but let’s not get into that too much now!) in Greenbelt.  After brunch though, I finally got up and bought the presents I had yet to buy for the family. But of course I couldn’t resist getting some stuff for myself.

PhotoGrid_1356090363595St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub because I’m running low on my Lush Ocean Salt Scrub, and also because I haven’t tried this variant before.  Wonder Pore Freshner from Etude House–this is the smaller one without the pump. I literally just tried it out five minutes ago, and I like it so far…but if you remember a couple of posts ago, I haven’t had a toner… since college, I think. A million light years ago. Will test this one out for a bit and I’ll try to give a decent review of it soon.

PhotoGrid_1356090654800And didn’t I just confess to not having a foundation at all? Haha. A solution has been served! I finally bought one.  I’ve been hearing good things about L’Oreal True Match in N7 Nude Amber (but this bottle comes says ‘le teint’ on it, I don’t know how different this is from the original one though) from many of my favorite vloggers and I inevitably decided to give it a try.  A problem I’ve been wanting to discuss about my face.  I spent too much time on the beach this year, which is awesome, actually.  I also love the tan version of me, I do, I really do! But my face! My face is always getting much too white for my body! The tan on my arms isn’t fading, my tanned legs remain tan. I always always look like I have foundation that’s much too white for my body, and I didn’t even own foundation! Until today anyway. My solution: foundation two shades darker. It matches my other tan parts, haha. I will finally look even, and I’m excited.

PhotoGrid_1356090730092I stumbled onto Covergirl’s Lip Perfection line last week.  I swatched one on a whim, a very wearable shade which I forget.  But what I didn’t forget though, was loving every bit of the swatch on my arm.  It glided on smoothly, it was a creme formula but it stayed on for hours. If you must know anything about my makeup turn-ons, it’s that it must long-wearing. That night, I found myself unable to stop thinking about this lipstick, and regretting why I didn’t buy it.  It was tough choosing a shade.  Even tougher was remembering which shade I swatched last week, but this one seems like the right one for me.  This shade I have is called 260 Heavenly. I’m trying to get into more neutral shades now, as I have been the red or dark lipstick lady for quite some time now. Will definitely swatch and do a decent review of this soon.

PhotoGrid_1356090789096I got the Nichido Lip Pencil in LP04 Rosette, a wearable rosy shade that’ll fair well with both lighter or darker lipsticks.  I also think it’ll look nice if worn alone. The E.L.F. stipple brush I just had to have, especially now that I found a foundation I like (heehee). Also, a travel cosmetic case that can fit my brushes from a local brand called Kara Nina.  Its striped exterior coincides with the National Bookstore tote I have been looking for and finally got! (I saw the tote on Tatin’s site and thought it was just a limited edition thing.  They sell it apparently.)

A side story, if you feel like reading: while swatching lipsticks in the department store, I stumbled yet again onto something I think I have to have. I absolutely fell in love with the shade and formula–it’s exactly the thing I have been looking for, and wasn’t quite sure it existed (maybe because I haven’t had anything from the brand).  It is love at first sight (and swatch): Shisheido’s Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte Lipstick in PK224 Sugar Babe.  I have been looking for the Holly Golightly lipstick (the one she puts on in this scene below) since the first time I’ve watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s (I mean, who hasn’t) and I heard this particular one has been discontinued decades ago. But I am very positive this Shisheido one could be the reincarnate of the Holly Golightly one. Just look at Audrey Hepburn’s lips here, it is a glowing matte, wouldn’t you say?

I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way about a lipstick before.  You will be mine, you will be mineeee!!!
